Chief Strategy Officer
john.tapper@zimentgroup.com
John offers a wealth of experience in the practical
application of sophisticated quantitative techniques.
Throughout his career, he has helped clients in a
broad range of industries to improve their competitive
position through the strategic and rigorous use of
multivariate approaches including decision modeling,
market segmentation, marketing-mix modeling, and
data-display techniques such as perceptual and correspondence
mapping.
John began his career as a quantitative research
specialist with a research-based strategic consulting
firm specializing in the media and financial services
industries. Here, John built models segmenting the
media audience, predicting adoption rates for new
technologies, and optimizing cable line-ups.
He later honed his multivariate skills at a global
healthcare marketing firm, where he specialized in
using multivariate techniques to bring business insights
to marketing in the pharmaceutical industry. John's
work spanned a wide range of therapeutic categories,
developmental phases, and geographies, including
several multinational studies for block-buster products.
John went on to refine his marketing strategy skills
as a Principal with a premier international business
strategy and technology solutions firm, where he
helped to establish and lead the firm's quantitative
marketing practice. In this capacity, he worked with
large organizations to establish new brands, quantify
the equity in their existing brands, and segment
markets in new ways that maximize brand value and
revenue.
John holds a Ph.D. in Mass Communication from the
University of Wisconsin-Madison and a BA from the
University of Colorado.
